In 2026, Act 250 jurisdiction will expand to strengthen protections for Vermont’s most critical natural resources and to curb forest fragmentation. This video session will provide a clear overview of the new Road Rule, which governs roads constructed as part of new developments and takes effect on July 1, 2026. Draft Tier 3 rules are in development and slated to take effect December 31, 2026. We’ll walk through both sets of rules and the related maps – so you can see which areas of your municipality or region are included.
